A significant portion of my real food journey has taken place through the lens of food and beverage operations.

From a plant-based milk company to a clean-food grocer to high-volume coffee shops, bakeries, and juice and smoothie bars, I have spent over half a decade sourcing ingredients and creating food and drink menus that don’t sacrifice nutrition in the name of profit.

I have started businesses from scratch with intentional ingredients and have also taken over operations in cafes whose menus needed cleaning up. Being behind the scenes in a variety of capacities has led me to understand that while many establishments have the best of intentions, their execution of ingredients isn’t always in the best interest of consumer health.

A misconception I have found among business owners is that top-notch ingredients don’t leave room for profit. This simply isn't true. I have spent many years building relationships with beyond-organic producers from Vermont to California. By utilizing direct relationships and cutting out large distributor premiums, it is possible to pay fair prices to farmers while also running a profitable business. The result is providing customers with nourishing, honest food.
